This past spring Niketown Chicago closed its door to allow for major renovations. On September 27th, the store was officially re-opened with the help of former Chicago White Sox player, and multi-sport legend, Bo Jackson.
One of Nike’s challenges was to actualize their basketball and shoe chandelier design, which would be the central focal point of the store. Nike partnered with the Crack team to help bring the chandeliers to life. Through multiple rounds of engineering and prototyping, material and custom color testing, Crack successfully executed the works of art. The team even solved for the issue of the basketballs deflating over time by creating a molded basketball that looked exactly like the real thing!
